As an extension to the world-renowned New York Film Academy, located in New York, Los Angeles, South Beach, Florence and many more cities all around the globe, the New York Film Academy Australia continues to embody the philosophy of learning by doing.
The New York Film Academy founder and veteran producer Jerry Sherlock, who produced such classics as The Hunt for the Red October, established the school in 1992 and was inspired by the idea that in order to learn how to make movies, one must actually create movies. Sherlock and his colleagues designed a truly unique course of study that incorporates this philosophy in every aspect of the Academy's curriculum. Blending a mixture of traditional film school education with a new hands-on approach, students write, produce, direct, and edit their own original films while also serving as crewmembers on their fellow classmates’ films to gain extensive on-set experience.
New York Film Academy Australia is committed to the principle of "learning by doing" in all the programs offered. All programs provide a learning environment utilising industry standard equipment in world-class facilities. Visual and performing arts programs offered in Australia include Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Producing, Screenwriting, Documentary Filmmaking and 3D Animation & Visual Effects.
NYFA Australia provides students with the tools and know-how to apply what they've learned in class into the real world, making for an educational experience unlike any other.
