Steps to apply for a VET Student Loan?

Once you have applied for your Diploma course of study and received your Letter of Offer, please complete the following steps:

  • Apply for a Tax File Number (TFN). https://www.ato.gov.au/
  • Apply for a Unique Student Identifier (USI) unless you are otherwise exempt. https://www.usi.gov.au/
  • Return your Signed Letter of Offer with supporting documentation to your recruitment representative.
  • You will receive an online Student Enrolment Data form which you will need to complete with pre-populated and mandatory fields. Ensure all information is correct and return as soon as possible. Without this, we cannot process your request for a VET Student Loan.
  • Finalize and Opt In. Once the government successfully receives your information, you will receive an Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF) by email. Inside is a passerkey and a link to log into the eCAF website. You are required to log in with that information and complete a few more questions. Once completed you will receive a final confirmation eCAF document PDF to your email.
You must read the Vet Student Loans information booklet 2017 before submitting the ‘request for Vet Student Loan eCAF’.
When you sign and submit your form to the Commonwealth, you declare that you have read the booklet and that you are aware of your obligations under Vet Student Loans. Your Request for a VET Student Loan eCAF must be completed by the census date.

If you do not complete the eCAF, by the required date for your course, you will have to wait until the next available study term to request a VET student loan for future study.

What tuition fees does Vet Student Loans cover?

The maximum amount for students studying NYFA-AU Diploma programs is $10,000. Please note there is a gap overage ($2500) for Equipment Fees that is not covered by Vet Student Loans.

Students are required to pay the minimum installment at each due date stated on the quarterly invoice.

Please speak with our Financial Aid Department for assistance on interest free credit management for gap fees during your course of study.
