The International Student Office at the New York Film Academy Australia is here to assist students from outside Australia in studying at our campuses in Sydney and the Gold Coast.
Q. What type of visa do I need to attend New York Film Academy Australia programs? A. Our full-time Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media Programs require all international students to apply for an Australian student visa.
Q. How does the Student Visa application process work? A. Once an international student has been accepted into their New York Film Academy Australia Diploma or Advanced Diploma program, they are sent an international student Letter of Offer containing an invoice with a breakdown of semester tuition. Payment of $1000 AUD must be received. Upon receiving, New York Film Academy Australia will provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Applicants must bring their Letter of Offer, Confirmation of Enrolment and Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) to their visa appointment at the Australian Immigration or Embassy in their home country, who will determine Student visa issuance.
Q. What are the steps to get a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)? A. Our International Department will contact an international student to obtain all necessary information required for the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). You are then required to sign and return your CoE to confirm your attendance. Please note you’ll need to provide proof of funds available to pay for all tuition and living costs ($AUD) throughout the duration of study in Australia. For more information, visit http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/500-.
Q. How long does it take to get a CoE and visa? A.The CoE process is simple and quick. The wait time for visa appointments varies between countries and at different times of the year. Please visit the website of the Australian Embassy in your home country to find out current wait times.
Q. What are the estimated living costs in Australia? A. Recommended budget is $1550 ($AUD) per month for living costs (housing, food, transportation) and additional funds for travel and other expenses. Your actual living costs may be higher or lower depending on your choices.
