Overview of Youth and Teen Acting Camps at NYFA in Australia
YOUTH AND TEEN ACTING CAMP
In NYFA Australia’s youth and teen Acting for Film camps, aspiring performers can build confidence in their on-camera skills, learning essential performance and audition techniques from experienced industry professionals. Throughout the camps, students aged 13-17 can practice their voice, movement, improvisation, and audition abilities, providing them with the framework to become stronger performers. From learning and working on films at the purpose-built Southport campus to shooting acting projects on the backlot at Warner Bros. Movie World, the Acting for Film camps are engaging experiences that allow students to explore their identity as an actor and build their confidence while, having fun and making friends with like-minded classmates.
NEW YORK FILM ACADEMY AUSTRALIA YOUTH AND TEEN ACTING CAMPS
Program Details:
The Acting for Film camps are day programs, running from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m (AEST), with the exception of an Orientation session at 9:00 a.m. on their first day. Youth and teen acting for film programs do not include accommodation, transfers, or meals. Please note that all students must follow New York Film Academy Australia's COVID Safe Plan during their participation in the program.
1-Week Acting for Film Camp
The 1-Week Acting for Film Camp introduces students to the art of performing on-camera. Through scene study and monologue work, students learn fundamental acting skills in a fun, supportive environment, leading to their performance in a short film.
This provides a well-rounded experience that includes:
On-Set Experience: Filming on production at the backlot of Warner Bros. Movie World and showreel scenes Self-tape for Auditions: The creation of an audition tape, as well as casting tips
To store a copy of their final project and project files, we suggest that students bring a USB 3.0 flash drive with at least 16GB storage capacity to transfer their edited films/showreels.
3-Week Acting for Film Camp
In the 3-Week Acting for Film Camp, students can learn new on-camera and audition techniques as they gain confidence in front of the camera. Through advanced scene study, monologue work, and exercises, students expand their acting skills, building towards a performance in a short film.
This provides students with practical training that includes On-Set Experience, Self-tape for Auditions, Headshots.

Youth and Teen Camp Age Guidelines
Students must be 13-17 years and may or may not be in high school. Students must meet the following criteria to attend:
Must be AT LEAST 13 years old on the first day of the teen camp
Must be UNDER THE AGE OF 18 on the first day of the teen camp
Cannot attend if you are in high school but under the age of 13 or have already turned 18 years old as of the first day of the teen camp
Campus
Students attend acting for film classes at NYFA Australia’s Gold Coast campus at the purpose-built Southport Central. Students also get to work on production sets filming at the Warner Bros. Movie World backlot.
